Hello, my name is Courtney Cantwell. I was born and raised in Hanford California! I started doing nails when I was in high school, around 14 years old. I used to wash my fathers truck as a chore to be able to afford to get my nails done. I was very big into art all through high school and took several classes, working with all different art mediums. After a few times getting my nails done, I fell in love with the process of it all! The smells & the vibe in a salon. Exchanging beauty tips and walking out feeling your best. I decided to use my money to purchase my own acrylic kit from my local beauty supply and from there I started doing my own, friends, and families nails. By the time I graduated high school, I went straight into beauty college and got my license , graduating in May 2002 from Lawrence School of Cosmetology.
I worked in my first local salon and stuck it out the old way staying close to my desk incase a walk in would come in to try and build clientele! I handed out business cards & coupons, I mean the real “old school” way of building a business! I would always do my own nails and make sure they were bold to be noticed and happily carried a stack of my cards around so when someone would ask I could say “ thanks I did them myself “. The lights in their eyes would get bright with excitement ready to schedule an appointment!
I opened up my own salon, Ladies Room Beauty Parlor, and I’ve owned and operated it since 2004! The salon was extremely successful and well known for our very bold nail art and encapsulated glitter nails. Come to think of it, encapsulated anything nails! I’ve encapsulated everything from ribbon, flowers, magazine, photos, and snake skin, you name it! I’ve always been huge on animal prints and fun trendy nail art. I love using bold colors and creating eye-catching designs to draw in the clients!
With all of the changes in the industry over the years, I have always tried to keep myself educated and up-to-date with all of the newest trends and products! Over the last two decades, I have educated and helped numerous nail techs in my salon build their clientele & become well known successfull techs in the industry.
In 2019 I started my journey with V Beauty Pure as an ambassador . In 2021 I had the opportunity to be trained to become a V Beauty Pure Educator by some of the biggest names in the industry, and started teaching my very own classes! I absolutely have fallen in love with teaching art! Most students think they are incapable of doing any type of art, and just after one class, to see the possibilities and progress of each artist discovering their talents they never knew they had!! It’s so rewarding. I’m so excited to be given this chance to come here and share my knowledge with all of you!
